Are You Saying YES to You or Your Ego?

How to Discern What’s Really Guiding Your Decisions
“YES to you is actually saying yes to who you truly are in connection with Spirit.”
In a world that tells us to "follow your truth"—how do we know which voice is actually ours?
Is it intuition…or insecurity? Is it alignment…or avoidance? Is it Spirit…or survival?
The line is razor-thin, and most people have never been taught how to walk it.
The Difference Between Ego and Spirit
“The first thing we have to do is develop a healthy ego before we can do a full integration of shadow for one’s liberation.”
The ego is not the enemy. It’s the guardian of the threshold. It’s the part of us that learned how to survive, especially when life was unsafe. But while ego is necessary, it can’t be the driver. If it is, we’ll spend our lives chasing safety disguised as success.
“Ego comes from a place of lack, whereas Spirit comes from a place of fullness.” -Starlite
Spirit, by contrast, is unattached. It flows through you. It’s not concerned with whether you're right or wrong, seen or unseen. It simply wants you alive, whole, and rooted in presence.
“Spirit will always advocate for more life.”
If the ego says, “How do I protect myself or be seen as more reputable?” Spirit says, “Let's expand unto presence.”
If ego seeks fuel and validation, Spirit typically seeks clarity and connection.
“Because Spirit… Spirit as the advocate from wholeness… isn’t using projections. It’s unattached. It may still get angry or sad or whatever emotions, but overall—it’s unattached.” -Dreamweaver
Why It's So Hard to Tell the Difference
It’s not always obvious. Because sometimes, ego can look like Spirit. Sometimes fear is wearing the mask of intuition. Sometimes our “boundaries” are just avoidant defenses in disguise.
“Sometimes ego and Spirit on the external might show the same expressions in certain scenarios.”
The key is where it’s coming from.
“Is it from a place of lack? Or is it from a place of detached wholeness?”
Start by asking:
Am I making this choice because I trust myself, or because I don’t?
Is this decision expanding me or shrinking me?
Am I afraid to lose something—or ready to let go?
It’s Not About Perfection
“You are flawed. You will fall short. You will not be perfect. That’s why you turn to Spirit. That’s why you turn to God.”
This path isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about honest devotion. It's about asking yourself, every single day:
Who am I really saying yes to?
Because when you say yes to ego, you're just surviving.
But when you say YES to you—the real you—you come alive.
